Meet Skeeter! Skeeter is a sweet boy who loves his humans and generously doles out puppy kisses. This little nugget is full of energy and is looking for a furever family to snuggle with and take him on walks to enjoy the smells around him.
Skeeter came to us after being attacked by a large dog. Four vet appointments, drain tubes, a cone of “shame” and many stitches later, Skeeter is now spunky, sassy, loving and glad to be feeling better! We believe he is an approximately 4-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix.
Skeeter’s foster family has two small, adult, male dogs. He is the smallest of the pack but that doesn’t deter him from asserting himself. Skeeter can be a little jealous when he thinks another pup gets too much loving. Skeeter also loves to play with his toys and is learning to share them well with his foster brothers.
Skeeter is crate-trained and house-trained. He will quietly doze in his crate or in his own bed near his human all night. When he is ready to play, he will lick you and chew on whatever he can fit into his mouth — your toe, your finger, your earlobe …. He also loves to play with his toys — especially the squeaky ones!
He enjoys discovery walks and cuddling with his humans. His preferred method of transportation is being carried, though he will happily walk and explore whenever he is put down. Skeeter is currently practicing walking on a leash without pulling (but, who are we kidding?! He’s only 8 pounds and it’s hard to tell even if he is pulling!). He does best on walks when allowed to make lots of stops to smell, investigate, and mark his path!
If you like tiny puppy kisses and walking slowly to stop and smell the — um — “roses”, you have to meet Skeeter!
